Duncanville ISD’s head varsity football coach has done a tremendous job of rebuilding the Duncanville football program in his six years with the district.

Coach Reginald Samples quickly established a winning culture with an impressive record in 2017. In 2018, the Duncanville Panthers, for the first time in 20 years, went to the State Championship finals game and also achieved a 15 game winning season. Coach Samples led the Panthers to the State Championship game for the second year in a row in 2019 and the State Semi-Finals in 2020.  

Prior to arriving in Duncanville, Reginald Samples served as head football coach for 25 years in the Dallas Independent School district including nine years at Skyline High School. During Samples’ time there, the Skyline football team participated in the state playoffs every year accumulating 19 playoff wins in six seasons. The Skyline football team won six straight district titles.

Coach Ford of USA Today’s national No. 1 ranked boys’ high school basketball team takes the helm as the Head Girls’ Basketball Coach at Duncanville High School. Bringing nearly 20-years of coaching experience to the powerhouse Pantherette basketball program, Neiman Ford has been named the head coach. 

Coach Ford joined Duncanville High School Boys’ Basketball Program as the assistant head coach in 2018 and helped lead the team to back-to-back UIL State Championships. This school year Ford led the team to a 29-1 winning season as the interim head coach. The boys rigorous international schedule included victories over teams with 30+ wins, including Lake Highlands and California’s Centennial.

An experienced and accomplished coach, Ford has successfully coached various sports (Boys Basketball, Girls Soccer, Football, and Track & Field) and developed several All-American players and Team USA Gold Medalists.

“As a former assistant coach at the collegiate level, I know first-hand the importance of leading a program that is dedicated to developing and supporting the whole student-athlete,” said Coach Ford. “I’m all about having a winning program and ensuring that our student-athletes are equipped for the next phases of their life,” Ford continued.

Coach David Peavy joined the Duncanville ISD family in April 2018, coming from Dekaney High School in Spring ISD (Houston).  He brings more than 25 years of successful coaching experience at the high school and collegiate levels. Coach Peavy has been named Coach of the Year four times and was twice named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-State Committee.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and his Master of Education in Teaching from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. He believes in developing leaders and promoting discipline on and off the court. He is committed to building a championship team of character, class and one that gives total effort. Coach Peavy has led the Panther to the State Championship game in 2019, 2020, and 2021 and has won two Championship titles.

Coach Scott Fahey is a 1997 graduate of Duncanville High School. He is in his 19th year of teaching/coaching.  He played for Duncanville HS for four years, earning 1st Team All-District Honors, District 6-5A MVP Honors, 1st Team All-Area Honors and All State Honors. Coach Fahey continued his playing career after high school, playing two years in junior college (Howard County and Brookhaven CC) and two years at Northwood University, earning 1st Team All-Conference Honors in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference, the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference, and the Red River Athletic Conference.

Coach Fahey is a 2002 graduate of Northwood University with a degree in Business Management. Fahey’s father Bill was in professional baseball for 22 years, including 11 years as a major league catcher for the Rangers, Padres, and Tigers, and six years as a coach for the San Francisco Giants. His brother Brandon played eight seasons of professional baseball, with three seasons as a major league infielder/outfielder for the Baltimore Orioles. His mother Carla has been an active volunteer in the school district and PTA for over 30 years. Fahey married his wife Janel in 2008 and they have two daughters, Reagan and Carsen.

Coach Brett Duff graduated from Duncanville High School in 1997. He coached at Kennemer Middle School from 2005-2007 before coming to coach at Duncanville HS in 2008. Duff became the Assistant Softball coach at DHS in 2010 and Head Coach in 2014. Coach Duff led the Lady Panther Softball team to their first playoff victory in 2016 and their first District Championship in 2017.

Duff is married to Genny Duff and has two daughters, Ashton and Dani, and Jett.

Coach Ramsey is entering her 17th  year coaching and teaching, along with playing 4 years collegiately at Alcorn State University.  Throughout her career she has developed multiple collegiate and professional volleyball players.  Coach Ramsey is a dedicated coach who is passionate about helping athletes excel in the sport and achieve their athletic goals. With a strong belief in the development of players, she focuses not only on improving their volleyball skills but also on instilling qualities such as discipline, leadership, dedication, loyalty, and sacrifice.

Coach Ramsey is committed to creating a positive and supportive team environment where athletes can grow both on and off the court. She emphasizes the importance of teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship, fostering a sense of unity and cohesion among her players. Through her coaching, she strives to empower each athlete to reach their full potential and exceed their own expectations.

Coach John Jacks is beginning his third year rejuvenating the golf program here at Duncanville high school.  His passion is to provide an opportunity for every student to learn the game of golf.  He believes the game of Golf teaches you character and integrity and it is a game that you can enjoy for your entire lifetime. 

Coach Jacks graduated from Howard University with his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering.  His coaching experience includes jobs at Wilmer Hutchins High School, Lancaster High School, Ft. Worth South Hills High School, Crowley High School and Paul Laurence Dunbar High School.  Coach Jacks is extremely grateful for the opportunity to continue with the winning traditions Duncanville High School.

Coach Jordan Jackson is in his third year at Duncanville High School, and was the assistant coach in 2018.  He graduated from Dallas Baptist University, where he competed on the collegiate level. As well as being a scholar athlete, Jackson was awarded the honor of Men’s NCAA Player of the week and All-American honors. Both of his parents are coaches, and his Dad currently coaches tennis and cross-country at Stockdale High School. He credits their influence on helping him become who he is today. He is also very thankful for the opportunity that Coach Trent Sellers gave to him to be able to come to Duncanville, along with his mentorship and friendship over these two years.

Coach Jackson is very thankful to be a part of the Duncanville High School family and wants to do his best to continue the successful tennis program, but more importantly to try and impact young boys and girls to be their very best in the classroom, court, and in their life pursuits.

Coach Nuno Passos is beginning his 20th year in teaching and coaching and his thirteenth year at Duncanville. He is only the third boys soccer coach in Duncanville HS history.

Coach Passos is a six-time District Coach of the Year and a Dallas Morning News and Star Telegram Coach of the Year. He was also selected as the Texas High School Soccer Coaches Regional Coach of the Year in 2014 and also the North Texas Competitive Coach of the Year.

Coach Passos has helped revitalize the Duncanville HS program for area, regional, state and national rankings. He also coaches club soccer with Solar Soccer Club and he has won numerous prestigious awards including being a five-time Dallas Classic D1 Champion, three-time North Texas State Champion, two-time USYS Regional Champion, two-time USYS National Bronze Medalist,  National League Champion and a Dallas Cup Finalist.

Coach Passos is married with two children and resides in Mansfield, Texas.

Benjamin Thrasher grew up and attended High School in Rowlett, Texas where he played Soccer and ran Cross Country. Upon graduating he received a scholarship to play Soccer at Sterling College. He is the Head Girls Soccer Coach at Duncanville High School and also is a Co-Advisor for The National Honor Society. Coach Thrasher has been the Girls Head Coach for 4 years and prior to that was the assistant coach for the Boys Soccer Program for 5 years.

Coach Thrasher has been teaching for nine years, with all nine of them being at Duncanville High School. He is a graduate of the University of North Texas and earned a degree in Kinesiology. Coach Thrasher believes in building athletes that demonstrate strong character on the field and in the classroom and enjoys spending time with his wife, Sara, and his son, Cayden.

Coach Clayton Brookins arrives in Duncanville after spending the last 9 years at his High School Alma Mater, Green B. Trimble Technical High School in the Fort Worth Independent School District. During his tenure he revived the program he once competed for and led the school to State and National notoriety guiding numerous State Meet Gold Medal Winners and National Sprint and Hurdle Leaders.

Coach Brookins is a 1999 graduate of Texas Christian University where he was a scholarship athlete earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Sports and Recreational Leadership. Coach Brookins was a 1998 NCAA Track and Field Conference Champion in the 400 meter hurdles and a NCAA  All-American that year.

Coach Brookins believes in fostering a program that will be respected both in the classroom and community as much as out on the field. The pursuit of excellence as well as “Keeping The Main Thing the Main Thing”, are mantras that Coach Brookins lives by and instills in his student-athletes.

“I am very humbled and excited to be a part of such a winning environment at Duncanville”. Coach Brookins married his wife Rhonda in 2009 and they have a son, Ryder.  Coach Brookins also has a daughter Jordan and a son, Kelton.

Coach Yvette Green grew up in Fort Worth and graduated from Arlington Heights High School. While at Arlington Heights she competed in volleyball, basketball, and track and field. She received a scholarship to Texas State University for Track and Field, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.  

Coach Green became part of the Duncanville family in 2012 as an assistant Track Coach. In 2014 she became the Girls Head Track and Field Coach.

 

Head Cross Country Coach

Moses Pena is the Head Cross Country Coach at Duncanville High School and also works with the middle school cross country program. His goal is for his students to have a great mental and physical balance in their life.  Prior to his role at Duncanville, Coach Pena served as a Head Coach for volleyball, track and basketball in other districts. He has taken several athletes to state in cross country and track. He also coached one athlete to the 100 meter state championship.

Coach Pena is a graduate of Duncanville High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts from Dallas Baptist University. While attending DBU he competed on the cross country and track teams. He has been teaching for twenty two years, fifteen of them at Duncanville. Coach Pena enjoys running and cooking.
